Section 712.1.12 states that exit access stairways within floor opening shall be designed in accordance with Section 1019. Section 1019.3 condition 4 allows for exit access stairways that connect less than four stories to remain open and nonrated provided the openings are protected by draft stop and closely spaces sprinklers around the opening. Both these conditions are provided at this stair.
